Overview

OUR WORK

Wolf Studios Wales is the largest film and television studio facility in Wales, operated by the globally recognised production company Bad Wolf. For nearly a decade, the stages had been used primarily for Bad Wolf’s own slate of productions, contributing to landmark series and driving significant economic impact across the region.

As the studio transitions into the external market, I was commissioned to support their strategic growth - elevating the profile of the facility, strengthening its competitive position, and identifying new commercial opportunities across the UK and US production landscape.

Objectives

  • Upsell Wolf Studios Wales to the UK and US production market
     

  • Develop and deliver a compelling market proposition for external clients
     

  • Conduct a comprehensive business review to identify new revenue streams and long-term growth opportunities
     

  • Support Wolf Studios Wales in increasing stage occupancy, with the project completing when the studio reaches full capacity
     

  • Provide continued consultancy based on an established six-year working relationship with the Wolf team

    Created a refreshed narrative and value proposition that highlights Wolf Studios Wales’ scale, technical capability, location advantages, and proven track record in premium scripted production

    Conducted a detailed assessment of operations, commercial models, client experience, and market trends to identify opportunities for efficiency, new service offerings, and competitive differentiation
     

  • Outbound Business Development
    Engaged with UK and US studio executives, production companies, and location managers to generate awareness and open conversations about upcoming productions suited to Wolf Studios Wales
     

  • Strategic Growth Support
    Provided ongoing consultancy to guide decision-making, advise on market shifts, and support internal teams in establishing systems and processes that strengthen the studio’s commercial readiness

Outcome

THE OUTCOME

With this on-going project, Bad Wolf, in collaboration with Studio Network is focusing on bringing new, high-value productions into Wales and building a sustainable, long-term growth pipeline. The engagement will conclude once Wolf Studios Wales achieves full stage occupancy and secures a consistent external client base.
